I know nothing about cameras...

... but I keep buying them at 'antique' stores.

Why? No idea, other than they're cool.

So far, I have nine 'vintage' cameras, five of them bought just this weekend for a total of $75. That's a bargain!

You may ask, "Do they work?" and I would answer, "No idea." Right now, they look good as a collection on a shelf. So your next question should be, "Do they work?" and I would answer, "Maybe?!? We'll see."

I had a Brownie 127 when I was about 10-ish. I went to Buxton in Derbyshire, England, with my family, and we found either an antique shop or a photography shop, I'm not sure, and I was telling my Mum that 'this camera is cool', and she said that she'd owned one as a child, and proceeded to buy it for me. I used it for a while, then 'upgraded' it to other cameras, but by the time I was in my teens, I guess I lost interest.

I want to find another Brownie 127, but I live in the USA, which will make the search harder. When I can, I travel back to the UK, so I hope to find one there on an afternoon adventure with the family, but in the meantime, I'll keep looking here in the USA. And, as I search, if I find other cool-looking cameras, I may buy them too!

Where were we? Oh yes: nine cameras, all with identifying manufacturers and models. So, my next step is to learn more about each of them and write about them here. Primarily for my own education, but someone may stumble across this blog and learn something as well.

Likely? Again, I've no idea, but it's possible...

[next post: Listing the cameras, with photos. After that, one post per camera and any info I can find out about them, no matter how strange or boring.]
